In 2020, Andrea partnered with The Talent Company to support the growing demand for equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging consulting and training needs. The Talent Company offers practical solutions with exceptional results.

As a leader in HR, The Talent Company offers solutions across the total talent lifecycle, including recruitment, coaching, leadership development, compensation consulting, HR on-demand, career transition, and outplacement services. Andrea provides keynotes, training, strategy, 1:1 consulting, executive leadership coaching and full Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging consulting packages. Her proprietary belonging metrics and strategic methodology is embedded into the services mentioned.

AdlerUniversity

In 2020, Andrea returned to school to complete a Master of Industrial & Organizational Psychology. Adler University is a leader in producing socially responsible leaders who use the core principles of Industrial and Organizational (I/O) psychology to reshape organizations and establish psychologically healthy working environments. Their goal is to produce practitioners who help organizations see beyond the bottom line.

While Andrea has many years of experience, her desire was to validate tools and methodology she has been using throughout her career and put content, theory and methodology through the rigors of academia. With the lack of real progress in the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) industry, Andrea wanted to develop reliable, validated, and trusted methods to support the advancement and impact of EDI and Belonging. Andrea specifically chose Adler University for their Social Justice Program, their emphasis on creating community and belonging, as well as her love for Adlerian Psychology.

UWNL

In 2019, Andrea was nominated for Trailblazer of the Year and through this nomination found a fabulous partnership with Monica Kretchmer and the incredible network of women who are members of Universal Women’s Network.

In 2021, Monica launched an incredible campaign to highlight gender inequity. The transportation industry partnered on this initiative and wrapped their hauling trailers in Women Who Are Driving Change. Andrea was one of those women and her story was included in the first Women Driving Change Book. While Andrea has been working on her thesis, she has also been working with Monica to craft a program entitled, “IncludeHer”, which will support organizations to help create workplaces where women belong and thrive. We look forward to the launch of the program in 2022.

In 2020, Catherine Gignac, former chair of Women In Mining Canada, agreed to become Andrea’s site supervisor for her Social Justice Practicum at Adler University. This partnership enabled the research and previous whitepaper “Unrealized Growth In Mining” to come to fruition.

Catherine, along with Marie-Hélène Turgeon (former director) and Resa Furey (current chair), became a trio of advisors to the mining industry research. Together and in partnership with Adler, Andrea was introduced to TSX listed mining companies and set out to research belonging within the mining industry.

Out of the work from Andrea’s Social Justice Practicum and the partnerships with Women In Mining Canada, evolved the first free Belonging-First course that is accessible to the public. You can access the course here: https://members.wimcanada.org/courses/belonging/

Women In Mining Canada will also have exclusive introductory content released in the fall of 2022 to grow the next phase of belonging behaviours and KPIs, specifically for the mining industry.
